DIY Gel Manicure

DIY gel nail. at home gel manicure

Happy hump day babes! Super excited we are half way through the week already! Who loves a good gel manicure?! Definitely this girl! No dry time and stays on for about 2 weeks with no chips! Yes please! Although, lets be honest they can get a little pricey and going to the salon once every two weeks can get time consuming! That’s why I have been obsessing over DIY gel nails that I can now do from home with my new Vanity Planet Glow Dry LED Nail Dryer. No joke this baby dries your gel polish in 45-60 seconds, just like the salons! I pretty much mess up my normal nail polish 60 seconds after I paint them, so it has basically been my life saver! Not to mention my gel polish lasts double or triple the time! To make it even better, you can get the dryer 70% off (makes it go from $100 to $30!!) with code upbeatglow here! You seriously cannot beat that! Ok so on to how I get my gel nails from home with my dryer!

First make sure your nails are clean, buffed, cuticles pushed back, and all that jazz. I wiped my nails down with rubbing alcohol to make them super clean. Next apply your gel polish. I used Red Carpet Ready in Smoke and Mirrors since you do not have to apply a base coat or top coat! Not sure how I like it yet since I have only used it once, but so far so good! Definitely saves time! Also a helpful note, while applying gel polish be sure to cap the ends of your nails with the polish, it helps it from lifting or peeling too early! After you have applied your first coat cure under the light dryer for 45 seconds (click the button once) or 60 seconds (click the button twice). I did mine for 60 seconds to make sure they were nice and dry! I also did my thumbs separately since the dryer wasn’t deep enough to place my whole hand in. After the first coat is done, repeat the same method for a second coat and BOOM you’re done! Seriously took me a whooping 5 min and had absolutely no dry time afterwards!  I cannot wait to play around with my Glow Dryer more and try different gel polishes and colors! Do you all have any favorite gel brands?! If so do tell! I hope you all have an awesome Wednesday! <3

Thank you Vanity Planet for gifting me a Glow Dry LED Nail Dryer for review, all opinions are 100% my own

I love gel manicures! I’ve been using the CND Weekly and love it. But, I definitely need to check this Vanity Planet brand. Love that it stays on for two weeks, my weekly only makes it one!

Gel manicures are the best! They are so fast and convenient! If I can do it at home it’s even better.

I usually only treat myself to gel manicures at the salon before I’m traveling somewhere, but this looks like an amazing way to get the same look and effect at home. I’ll definitely have to try it out <3

I refuse to get anything other than a gel manicure because my life is not friendly towards regular polish!

I have tried once with Sally Hanson – I am not the best nail artist lets just say that. Love the color you picked! Happy Wednesday!

Jamberry makes a great gel system too, for $120, you get all you need to do a DIY gel mani at home. Full size bottles – base, 1 color, top, & cuticle oil + LED lamp cures coats in 45 sec & they have awesome removal packets that are included too!
It’s called TruShine if interested, find it at coastaljamsri.jamberry.com
They have new gel colors coming out March 1st.
    Definitely worth comparing!
And if you’ve tried their wraps, this gel can over them & extends the wear of them….it’s great!

Love! I’ve done gel at home too – I can never do it as well as a salon, but it’s definitely better than traditional polish!

Wow it would be so cool to own a glow drier and do your own pedicures and manicures at home. That dark nail polish is pretty and looks great with all of your gold rings.
