Happy Hump Day, Bump Day loves! This week I am 25 weeks and I thought it was the perfect time to do my second trimester bump update! I cannot believe in a little over a month I will be in my third trimester! Like what?! I have loved my second trimester so far! Feeling his little kicks and rolls nonstop is my favorite thing ever! I felt him pretty early, around 16 weeks, even Griffin could feel him and my Dr thought I was crazy since she thought it was a little too early to feel him from the outside haha. I swear I just have a Hulk child and also my placenta is posterior (or in the back of my uterus) so that usually lets you feel the baby sooner since they don’t have to kick through the pillowy placenta before getting to your uterus. My second trimester still has been pretty uneventful, thankfully! Pregnancy has felt super natural to me and I have really just felt normal. I was having a bit of sciatic pain, which I have had before getting pregnant too and went to a chiropractor and have been good ever since! I am going to be going to them once every month before I deliver just so I can be nice and aligned for birth since I have heard that it can help greatly! I do have some round ligament pain on and off as well, but my Dr says that it is completely normal. I am just praying everything continues to go smoothly and uneventful since I know things can get a little rough or uncomfortable once you enter the third trimester! I will keep you updated! <3
How am I feeling?
Pretty darn good! I definitely can’t complain! I do get tired a little more easily, but that is to be expected. My feet hurt easily now, which is more in the heels of my feet so wearing heels is almost more comfortable for me oddly! Also, the bit of round ligament pain and I have days where a feel pressure and it makes me have to pee a lot, but then some days I don’t. I am guessing it may be related to the position he is in? I know the peeing constantly days are not far away though haha! I get my glucose test in a week and I am praying that all goes well!
What am I Craving?
Uhhh everything! Haha no seriously I am hungry all the time it feels and I definitely want all the sweets! It is odd because in my first trimester I didn’t really want sweets, just salty and now it has completely flipped! I have always been a cookies and milk girl and now that craving is times 10! I have to eat them every night haha!
Food Aversions
Most of my food aversions have gone away, but I still haven’t been all about the avocados though. I have been able to eat them in sushi (cooked sushi that is don’t freak out ;)) so it is definitely an improvement! I love me a good shrimp tempura roll! Yum!
What Have I Been Wearing?
I definitely have been living in maternity jeans and flowy dresses. It has been a struggle for me finding cute tops that are long enough for maternity jeans that are not long sleeved. It hasn’t quite cooled down enough for long pants and long sleeves yet here, but I am waiting for the day to pull out the comfy oversized sweaters!
How’s Baby J?
We had our anatomy scan at 20 weeks and he looks perfect, thank the good Lord! He measured right on and got confirmation he is still a boy! She didn’t give me the best of pictures so one of my friends is going to scan me in two weeks so I can have some more pictures, hopefully! He was completely face down which made it difficult, but we still got to see his cute face and he was even practicing sucking! So adorable! We also have a first name!! We are still working on the middle, but we plan on keeping it hush hush until he is born! :)
How exciting! I can’t believe you’re in your second trimester–time just flies! Glad to hear you and baby are doing so well!!
Rosy Outlook
I’m so happy that it is going so well for you. I craved marmite with my son and iced-buns with my daughter. Weirdly I don’t like iced buns – but it’s her favourite treat! Bossy miss even before she was born ;O) xx
