Happy Wednesday! I think there is one thing that every woman, even avid shoppers, can agree on and that is finding that perfect pair of jeans is the hardest thing ever! Especially with the trends coming and going it can be really tough! I get so many comments and questions about jeans, I thought I would dedicate a post to it! I hear from readers all of the time, how they love a style of jeans, but they “could never pull them off” or “they would never look good on them.” Honestly, I think just about every style of jeans would look amazing on any figure, but you just have to find the right pair!
Let’s start with the dreaded boyfriend jean! This has been one of my favorite trends for a few years now! If you really want to go for this trend and have a thin/boyish frame, try a more classic boyfriend jean with a looser fit and if you want to edge it up, go for the distressed look. If you have a curvier frame or are a beginner at boyfriend jeans try more of a snug fit. This will help hit your curves in all of the right places, but the slightly loser leg of the boyfriend will help balance out your shape. Also, if you are on the shorter side just give them an extra roll or 2!
The classic skinny jean is pretty much a given. I think most woman own at least one or twelve pair of skinnies! This cut really looks great on any body shape! They also look amazing with about any outfit and any pair of shoes! The classic skinny jean is definitely a great pair to have in your closet in all different shades!
The distressed skinny jean is just a step up from the classic. The distressed look definitely gives you that something extra to an outfit. If you have more of a classic style, go for one that is lightly distressed, like the pair in the middle. Lightly distressed is also perfect for work, but still adds a little bit of fun. If you are feeling bold, go for a super distressed pair (not too much though! You don’t want to look like you have been attacked by a crazed animal) and maybe even one with a frayed hem, like the pair on the right, which I am in desperate need of!
Now on to my favorite, and everyone else’s least favorite, the flared jean! ;) This is the one that I get the most comments on about how, “flared jeans would never look good on them”! I hate to break it to you, but they would! First of all, who wants to be taller? These jeans will make you look taller. Who wants to balance out curves? These jeans will! I get told all of the time, they look good on you because you’re so tall. I hate to break it to you, but I am only 5’4″. The secret to flaired jeans, is to get them a little on the longer side (just so they hit the top of your foot or a tad longer) and wear them with a heel or wedge. Boom instantly long legs! If you are curvier, the flared leg will also help balance out your upper portion. Trust me you guys, just give them a try! ;)
I hope everyone has a wonderful hump day and will venture out of their comfort zone when it comes to a new pair of jeans! <3
Always in search of the perfect jean, no matter how many I have! Boyfriend are still the ones I’m looking for, need to check these out. Thanks for sharing:)

I do not get the difference between boyfriend jeans and girlfriends jeans. Suddenly I see the word girlfriend jeans with jeans which I would call boyfriend jeans… anyway :D I like the skinny jeans best on myself but then I thinnk boyfriend jeans are the coolest ones!
By the way, if ever you come to Germany, I will make you some vegan food – that good that you never want to eat meat again haha ;)

Love this! I finally got my first skinny jeans last month and now I want a few more, it’s just so good! I tried the boyfriend jeans before and unfortunately it’s just not for me, I look like a homeless in it!

I have yet to find a boyfriend jean that I like. I agree – I am so glad Flare jeans are still “in” – and they do elongate the leg – which is perfect!

I agree, every woman needs a pair from each group. I need some BF jeans and some distressed skinny jeans, both in blue and in black. I love the middle options you have featured in those 2 categories.
Great post.. I’m a little over the flare jeans (that used to be ALL I’d wear!).. but the boyfriend! cute! Thanks for sharing! – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com

Yes!!! I am so guilty of admiring jeans on others, especially you!, but saying I can’t pull it off. Trying jeans on is stressful and honestly it’s so easy to get discouraged, but you’re so right that any pair is possible as long as you find the right pair. I’m currently on the hunt for a boyfriend jean because it’s a trend I’ve been dying to try, but to scared to and I also really want to try a flared jean. Great post girl and I’m sure you gave us all confidence to go find the perfect jean!!

I love them all. Skinny, distressed and boyfriend. They’re all amazing. I am a little reluctant on the flare though. I have seen a few that look amazing but I feel like on a shortie like me not so much. But I suppose I should get out of the comfort zone on this one

I sold jeans for about 5-6 years, so I just happen to love denim. It’s SO important to find jeans that fit you well, because the right cut for you can make such a difference in how well you pull them off. You’ve definitely covered the basics here.
I have my sights set on a new pair of flares for spring. Very excited!
