Happy Thursday loves! I am super excited that we are almost to the weekend already! As most of you all know we flew up to Colorado two weeks ago for a nice mini vacation and let me just tell you it was one of my favorite trips to date! I could not get over it’s beauty and all of the gorgeous snow! It was a true winter wonderland for this Florida girl! If you follow me on Snapchat (@upbeatsoles) you probably have seen most of these pictures before because I was doing more snapping then taking actual pictures, oops! But lets get started shall we!? Sorry in advance for the millions of pictures! I tried my best to edit them down, but it was hard with Colorado’s beauty!
The first day we go there we drove up to Cooper Mountain for some snow tubing! Ya’ll I felt like I was 10 again! I cannot even begin to explain how much fun we had! Also their ice slides (I guess that’s what you call them?) were intense! They were super long, fast, and hilly compared to the other time I went tubing so if you are ever in the area I definitely recommend Cooper Mountain tubing! Ps this picture was right before we hit the tubes! Yes that is my husband on the right that looks like he going to go kill a bear with his bare hands and the rest of us looking like true Floridians!
The view from the top of the tubing hill! So gorgeous!
After tubing pooped us all out we drove into Breckenridge where we rented this gorgeous house for the weekend! I seriously never wanted leave! Notice the snow bank is half way up the tree! I have never seen so much snow before and Griffin had never seen it before so we were playing in it all weekend like little kids! The snow in the mountains is like powder! So pretty!
The view from the back of our house (insert heart eye emoji)
On the second day we hit the slopes! Or more like bunny slopes… I haven’t skied since I was younger and it was everyone else’s first time so we weren’t quite ready for the black diamonds just yet!
Doesn’t this picture look like a vintage postcard?! It started snowing so hard it gave the picture a natural filter!
So funny story when this absolutely stunning picture was taken! I mean look at all of those snow covered pine trees! Ok so after skiing my cousin that now lives in Colorado met up with us and said before dinner we should all drive up the mountain to Loveland Pass, which is one the highest peeks you can drive to in the Colorado and the views are suppose to be absolutely amazing! So we all hopped in the two cars, with Griffin who has never driven in snow before driving the car we were in with my cousin in his 4 wheel drive in front of us. The views were soooooo breathtaking on the way up, but the higher we got the harder the snow started falling and the skinnier the roads got, oh and the guardrails were disappearing! Needless to say we started to freak out, especially Griffin! I thought we were going to get stuck on the side of a mountain in a blizzard! Luckily my cousin could tell the conditions were getting bad so we pulled over and piled in his car on the rest of the way up! Hence when I snapped this pretty picture! So we finally make it to the top and we go to get out of the car to see these amazing views and it is a legit blizzard!! I have never felt wind like that in my life! I felt like I was in one of those arctic movies having to march with my head down to walk to the edge to look out! Needless to say you couldn’t see crap!! All the snow completely blocked the view! So we piled back in the car and drove through the blizzard back down the mountain all freaking the heck out! But hey, we got a good laugh out of it after we made it back down alive! ;)
The last day in Breckenridge the rest of the crew flew out super early so Griffin and I set out to explore downtown, get some coffee, and do a little shopping before heading to Denver. The downtown area was super cute and so stunning covered in all the snow!
After getting our last bit of exploring in we headed down to Denver to spend our last two days. This was one of the scenic stops along the way! Just breathtaking!
Right before we got to Denver we took a little detour over to Red Rocks amphitheater. I swear every where you look it was pretty sights! How cool would it be to go to a concert here?! I bet the sound is amazing!
Once we got to Denver I was completely horrible and didn’t take any pictures! We basically went to a bunch of breweries and ate (a lot). The last night in Denver I was super excited I got to meet up with my girl Leah from Eat Pray Wear Love. She was one of my first ever blogging friends and it was so amazing to finally meet in person after 2 years of virtual friendship! Isn’t blogging amazing ya’ll?! Sorry for the lengthy post but I couldn’t resist! I hope you all have a fabulous rest of your week and weekend! <3
