Carry on Bag // Sunglasses // Makeup Bag // Headphones // iPad // Facial Wipes // Scarf // Toothbrush // Sleep Aide // Sleep Mask
Happy Tuesday ya’ll! I hope everyone’s week is off to an awesome start! So with me traveling this week I thought it would be fun to do a travel related post on something that I really thought long and hard about (yes I am a dork like that). Flying to Italy was my first long haul flight and first overnight flight so I started to make a list weeks in advance on what I was going to pack in my carry on bag so I would be as comfortable as possible, but yet still not pack a lot of things that was going to take up space since I knew we were going to be spending a lot of time on trains! So this is how I narrowed it down. First off, the actual carry on bag! Pick something that is going to be easy to fold up once you get to your destination and will not take up much room in your luggage. Carrying one bag through the trains is way better than two! A sleep mask, this is definitely a no brainer. I actually wear sleep masks just at home because I am really sensitive to light in the morning so I recommend picking one with little eye cups. They are so much more comfortable and wont tangle your eyelashes! Sleep aide, I took melatonin since it is the most natural and won’t make you groggy. Toothbrush and face wipes, I always need to feel fresh before falling asleep! A scarf, just incase your flight doesn’t provide a pillow or blanket this can act as either and won’t take up much room in your luggage compared to a neck pillow. If you can’t sleep or don’t want to, download movies on your iPad in advance and watch it with a pair of headphones to pass the time. Or download a good book! A makeup bag to keep you essentials organized like passport, ID, money, boarding info, etc. Lastly, sunglasses for when you get off the plane and your in light shock! Sleeping and then going into the bright sun is never fun haha! Do you have any carry on must haves?!
I think you’ve got everything right here! I tend to do masks when I fly–I look crazy, haha. Glad you’re enjoying Venice!
Oh yes, I more or less bring all these things too! Love to bring a good book with me! Xx

This is so handy! I just booked a trip and these are essentials I need to add to my checklist.

Such a great list! I think a tote is a must have…I made the mistake of carrying a small crossbody once and that was just a terrible decision. I actually recently started traveling with sleep masks and they help so much!! Can’t wait to see photos from your trip!

Lol, a sleep mask is brilliant! I think, in fact, we should keep a sleep mask with us at all times. You know, if we just want to stop what we’re doing anywhere at anytime and take a quick snooze. Is this too taboo, bc I’m seriously considering it.
Much love,
